Working Hours & Conditions: Mondays to Fridays; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM AEST
OVERVIEW:
The client is looking for someone responsible for managing every cent of a project's budget—from counting the first screws to paying the final bill. You will act as the bridge between the designer’s creative vision and the client’s wallet, ensuring that high-spec office, retail, or hospitality spaces are delivered beautifully, on time, and without overspending
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Take-offs & BOQs: Measuring digital drawings to create a master "shopping list" (Bill of Quantities) for everything from glass walls to custom carpets.
• Tendering: Sending out the shopping list to specialist workers and comparing their prices to find the best deal.
• Valuations: Visiting the construction site to confirm work is actually finished before authorizing payments.
• Variations: Calculating the cost impact whenever a client or designer changes their mind about materials or layouts.
• Cost Value Reconciliation: Running monthly reports to ensure the project is staying profitable and isn't heading for a "money pit."
• Final Accounts: Negotiating the very last bill with contractors to ensure a fair and final price is paid.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-5 years of experience as a Fit Out Quantity Surveyor with AU commercial experience.
• Experience using Bluebeam Revu, CostX, or AI tools like Togal.AI for digital take-offs.
• Familiarity with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or Revit (BIM) to track costs within 3D models.
• Mastery of Advanced Excel and digital tendering platforms like Causeway or ProEst.
• High-level attention to detail—the ability to spot a missing item on a complex floor plan that others might overlook.
• A "tough but fair" communicator who can handle intense negotiations with contractors while maintaining great relationships with designers.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment where projects move from "empty shell" to "grand opening" in a matter of weeks.
