Job Description

Ko wai mātou - About us:

Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealanders since 1885. Today, our 11,000-strong team of kaimahi and volunteer works across Aotearoa to enhance the health and wellbeing of our communities. From responding to 111 calls to supporting people to stay healthy through our mahi in health education, access, and monitoring, we are making life-changing differences every day.

He aha te tūranga - About the role:

As a Hato Hone St John First Aid Tutor you will deliver First Aid courses to our key business customers and to the general public.

We are looking for a confident, motivated First Aid Tutor with a passion for the delivery of high-quality training, in a way that engages attendees and delivers great results for our customers. Although desireable, previous experience as a first aid tutor isn't mandatory.

• Greymouth based (preferred), with travel across the West Coast
• Permanent part-time, 40 hours per fortnight
• Roster available at least 1 month in advance.

We deliver courses 7 days a week so, although not regular, some weekend work is necessary. Your days can be long so you will need to be available outside of a usual 9-5 day. We ensure you are given rostered days/hours off to compensate for any additional hours.

Your hard work will be rewarded by a great starting salary of $62,944.20 (pro rata, equates to $30.26/hour), with an increase once signed off to teach independently to $64,504.80 (pro rata, equates to $31.01/hour). You'll also receive uniform, professional development, great work stories, and the deep satisfaction that comes from making a life changing difference to individuals in your community.

Ko wai koe - About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• (Ideally) adult education or workshop facilitation experience.
• Full driver licence with confidence on the road.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with people from all walks of life, with the ability to motivate others.
• Confident communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to problem solve and stay calm while doing so.
• Awesome organisational and planning skills.
• Enthusiasm to complete relevant adult education qualifications.

This is a great opportunity to do what you already love, within a supportive team and amazing organisation that enables you to make a difference every day. Are you up for the challenge?
