THE OPPORTUNITY
Ambipar Response. is currently seeking Wildfire Structure Protection Wildfire Crew Members based out of Lower Mainland BC. We are looking for candidates that are already based in this area.
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our Wildfire Structure Protection Crew for the upcoming wildfire season. This physically demanding role requires working long hours in challenging environments, often in remote locations with exposure to smoke, heat, and rugged terrain. Crew members must be adaptable, quick-thinking, and able to work efficiently under pressure. Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a solid understanding of fire behavior are essential. Key responsibilities include assessing structures for vulnerabilities, setting up and maintaining sprinkler systems, clearing combustible materials, and assisting with fire suppression efforts as needed. Crew members work closely with wildfire response teams, municipal fire departments, and emergency management agencies to implement protection strategies in these high-risk areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAND / WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF
· Operate and maintain fire fighting equipment and tools.
· Assist in fire prevention and fuel management activities
· Perform other duties as required by the crew lead
· Collaborate with fellow crew members to ensure safety and efficiency
· Work in challenging terrains under extreme conditions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· WSPP-115
· ICS100
· Basic First Aid (OFA 1 + Transport Endorsement) or Higher
· Valid Class 5 Drivers license
· Must be able to pass a company fitness test
· Must reside in the Lower Mainland of BC or 1 hour from the base location
· Fluent in English is required to ensure clear and effective radio communication for operational and safety purposes
DESIRED SKILLS | IS THIS YOU?
· WSPP-WFF1 or S100 / S185 (Can provide if required)
· Ladder Training (Can provide if required)
· Prior fire line experience
· Previous structure protection experience
· Proficient knowledge of software systems including Microsoft Teams
· Ability to work effectively in a team
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Willingness to work long hours under demanding conditions
· General knowledge of construction tools
· Experience using construction tools.
· Experience driving down forestry roads
NORMAL SCHEDULE/HOURS:
· On-Call
· Typically, a 14-day deployment with 12+ hours per day
