FIRE SPRINKLER HELPER
Company Profile: 1st Fire Protection Services, LLC is a privately-owned fire protection company that designs, fabricates, installs, maintains, and inspects fire protection systems in commercial & industrial buildings. We have offices located in San Antonio, Austin, McAllen, Waco, Houston, College Station, Lubbock, and Laredo.
Job Summary: We are looking for a Fire Sprinkler helper to assist the Fire Sprinkler Fitter/Foreman to Install, service and update the fire sprinkler systems in commercial buildings. The helper will be required to follow the directions of the fitter, operate various hand tools and power tools. Set up equipment and material in designated area for work. The work will mainly be in new construction environment exposed to the elements and require heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and standing throughout the day.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency service calls with Sprinkler Fitter.
On-Call rotation with assigned Sprinkler Fitter.
Assist in the installation or upgrade of fire sprinkler systems and alarms in commercial buildings.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Basic math and measurement skills.
The ability to lift up to 100 pounds which include handling heavy materials, tools and operate power and hand tools overhead.
Carry, lift or transport steel or plastic pipe and sprinkler fittings.
Hang pipe or fittings from ceiling by standing on the floor, from a ladder or aerial work platforms.
Tighten fittings, couplings, mounting hardware to fixtures using manual and power hand tools.
Learn how to read blueprints per specifications for installation.
Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) of hard hat, safety glasses, full length pants and fall protection harness (when required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
Ability to work on ladders and lifts up to 50 feet tall.
Valid driver’s license or identification card.
Reliable transportation.
Basic construction skills are a plus.
Some electrical work experience is a plus.
