Fire Sprinkler Fitter Helper

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter Helper to assist in the installation and servicing of fire sprinkler systems on commercial job sites. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in the fire protection trade. The position requires physical labor, the ability to follow directions, and a willingness to work in varying site conditions including heights and confined spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist fitter and foreman with the installation, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems including piping, valves, hangers, and related components.

Carry tools, pipe, and materials to and from work areas.

Measure, cut, and thread pipe under the direction of experienced fitters.

Clean and prepare job sites and equipment before and after installations.

Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery safely and correctly.

Load and unload equipment and materials from trucks.

Follow verbal and written instructions from the foreman or lead fitter.

Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all company safety guidelines.

Be willing and able to work at heights (ladders, lifts, scaffolding) and in tight spaces (crawl spaces, above ceilings).

Attend safety meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous construction or mechanical labor experience is a plus but not required.

Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 70 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in physically demanding environments.

Willingness to learn and grow within the fire protection trade.

Must have reliable transportation.

Valid driver’s license preferred.

Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-oriented attitude.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends, as needed.
