WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Fire Assay Operator to join the team in Rustenburg. Your role is to effectively carry out fire assaying of all PGM samples to a high degree of precision and accuracy.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
To be successful at Alfred H Knight the incumbent will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Responsibilities
Reporting any incidents on shift to the Shift Supervisor within 24 hours of the incident.
Advising the Shift Supervisor of any equipment breakdown, flawed supplies or sub-standard consumables.
Weighing and fluxing of all samples
Fusion of samples
Cupellation and High Temperature Cupellation of all samples
Ensuring the confidentiality of all results at all times
Performing instrument checks, balance verification and recording all relevant data and faulty equipment being brought to the attention of the Shift Supervisor
Alerting the Shift Supervisor of low stock levels or specialised materials formally before stock levels dry up.
Always wear approved and supplied PPE during hours of operation or when performing duties.
Observing and complying with operational requirements and safety regulations applicable to your work area. Non-compliance will be considered to be serious misconduct, and the Employer is hereby indemnified by the Employee towards any liability resulting from an injury or illness as a result of non-compliance with safety measures.

Required Qualifications
Grade 12 with Maths & Science
Required work experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Laboratory environment
