Position Summary: In this role, you will serve as a Fire Alarm Technician responsible for the inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of various fire protection systems, including addressable and conventional alarm systems, emergency evacuation systems, emergency lighting, and local smoke alarms. This position requires strong technical expertise to identify and resolve system deficiencies efficiently and professionally, ensuring all systems operate safely and remain in compliance with applicable standards, including NFPA 72 and NEC codes.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Fire Alarm Technician include, but are not limited to:
Fire Alarm Systems Installation, Repair, & Service
Install, troubleshoot and repair all fire alarm systems and associated components in accordance with NFPA standards and engineered drawings.
Perform tenant fit up installations as needed based on project requirements.
Procure permitting, fire alarm equipment and installation materials through our preferred distributors.
Perform monthly captive insurance fire alarm inspections and complete necessary inspection reports.
Oversee all alarm monitoring accounts to ensure proper communication to the central station. Update account information and contact lists as needed.
Perform/assist with functional testing on both alarm and sprinkler systems after repairs to verify proper operation.
Complete all required installation and service documentation accurately and submit in a timely manner.
Promptly report system deficiencies or safety concerns to the immediate supervisor.
On rare occasions, emergency service may be required if a fire alarm system’s integrity is compromised. Ensure an acceptable level of building protection is achieved for tenants outside of normal business hours.
Foster and maintain professional relationships with local AHJ’s, vendors and subcontractors.
Maintain any required professional licensure and listed agent certifications.
Physical Demands
Ability to travel through properties to conduct safety inspections.
Prolonged periods of standing on your feet and walking various properties.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
