Sheboygan Paper Box Company (SPBCo) is seeking an experienced and driven Finishing Supervisor to lead our Finishing Department. We are looking for a true people leader — someone who develops teams, drives accountability, and sets the tone for safety, quality, and performance across the plant.
This position holds direct process ownership of the Finishing Operation and plays a critical leadership role in supporting SPBCo’s safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery expectations.
Leadership Expectations
This role requires a strong, engaged supervisor who is present on the production floor and actively involved in daily operations. The Finishing Supervisor must be comfortable holding employees accountable for safety, quality, performance, and attendance while maintaining a professional and respectful work environment.
The ideal candidate is organized, decisive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Clear communication — both in group settings and one-on-one — is essential. A successful supervisor in this role will also drive continuous improvement efforts and support the ongoing development of team members and departmental processes.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Leading the Finishing Department with a strong safety-first mindset
Ensuring all work is produced in accordance with SPBCo Safety Policies, Quality Specifications, and SOPs
Managing departmental quality approvals in alignment with QA processes
Coordinating production and crewing schedules to meet customer requirements and on-time delivery goals
Overseeing machine maintenance logs and ensuring timely repairs within budget
Managing staffing levels, attendance records, timekeeping approvals, and data accuracy
Facilitating safety training and participating in regulatory compliance efforts
Leading progressive discipline conversations related to safety, performance, and attendance
Participating in daily production planning and monthly metric meetings
Conducting monthly departmental meetings focused on safety, production, and quality performance
Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the department
Developing and training team members for long-term sustainability and advancement
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience required
Minimum 5 total years of experience in the folding carton industry preferred
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience supervising within a manufacturing environment
Experience in a union environment preferred, but not required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
Familiarity with ERP systems required
Strong knowledge of folding carton finishing operations, material handling equipment, and industry best practices
