POSITION SUMMARY
The Finishing Superintendent is responsible for supervising the finishing stages of a project. This includes monitoring, controlling, and motivating sub-contractors to deliver a project that meets Urban One’s high quality standards. Working with the Project Manager and Superintendent they will assist in delivering a project which is on time and on budget.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with and effectively implement Urban One’s Safety Program to ensure safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded
Coordinate and supervise all interior finishing trades, suppliers, and site personnel to maintain productivity and schedule adherence
Execute and manage finishing work in accordance with contracts, drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and approved changes
Prepare and monitor weekly production and look-ahead schedules
Review drawings, scopes of work, and trade contracts for constructability, discrepancies, and deficiencies; escalate issues as required
Maintain quality control standards, conduct inspections, and implement QC checks for all finishing work
Ensure all changes, inspections, and corrective actions are properly documented and implemented
Chair and document trade meetings related to finishing activities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, or Construction Management
6+ years of previous construction experience
Strong organizational and planning skills with prioritizing and multi-taksing abilities to meet time sensitive deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
Gold Seal accreditation an asset
Red Seal Carpenter (Journeyman) Certificate a strong asset
