Job Description
DC is seeking a skilled and versatile Finish Carpenter/Handyman to support residential and light commercial construction projects through finish work, repairs, punch list completion, and small-scope field tasks.
This role blends high-quality finish carpentry craftsmanship with the ability to independently handle minor repairs, adjustments, and multi-trade work that support project completion, warranty needs, and overall client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solution-focused, professional with clients, and comfortable working across multiple projects. Occasional overnight travel outside the metro area may be required. A valid driver’s license is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform finish carpentry including trim, doors, hardware, cabinetry adjustments, and related installations
Complete punch list items, touch-ups, and final corrections to support project closeout
Handle minor multi-trade repairs such as drywall patching, paint touch-ups, framing fixes, and exterior adjustments
Provide daily progress updates to the Project Manager, including concerns, delays, or site issues
Communicate professionally with property owners when work is performed in occupied spaces
Support efficient and cost-effective use of company time, labor, and materials
Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites that reflect company standards
Travel between multiple active or near-completion projects as needed
Document daily work and project activity in company software
Perform other related duties as assigned to support project success and client satisfaction
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong finish carpentry skills and attention to detail
Ability to complete punch list, repair, and adjustment work independently
Experience with drywall, painting, trim work, and minor framing or exterior repairs
Installation and adjustment of windows, doors, and hardware
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
Proficient and safe use of standard hand and power tools
Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability across varied job scopes
Comfortable documenting work using digital tools and software
Professional communication and customer-service mindset
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in active construction environments for extended periods
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
