About Us
Gracie Barra is one of the largest and most respected martial arts organizations in the world, with 500+ schools across North America and thousands globally. Our mission is to bring the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle to as many communities as possible — with integrity, excellence, and discipline at the core of everything we do.
As we continue scaling across North America, we are strengthening our financial foundation. We’re looking for a Financial Controller who is sharp, reliable, operationally focused, and ready to support a fast-growing international business.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Brazil-based finance professional fluent in English who wants to work remotely while contributing to a U.S.-based organization. You will be the backbone of GBJJNA’s financial operations — ensuring accuracy, compliance, transparency, and stability. You’ll oversee accounting, reporting, cash flow, internal controls, and financial systems while supporting budgeting and performance analysis.
This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and analytical, with strong technical accounting skills and a proactive mindset. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll directly influence the quality of financial information used across the organization.
What You Will Do
Accounting & Reporting
Manage day-to-day accounting and general ledger activities.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.
Produce accurate U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements.
Support tax filings, audits, and compliance processes.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Support
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Monitor KPIs, cash flow, and performance trends.
Prepare financial reports and insights for leadership.
Cash Flow, Controls & Compliance
Oversee cash flow and working capital management.
Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
Financial Systems & Operational Excellence
Maintain and improve ERP/BI systems and accounting workflows.
Drive process improvements and automation.
Franchise Network Financial Support
Support unit-level financial analysis and benchmarking.
Help develop tools for franchisees to better understand profitability and financial performance.
What We’re Looking For
Required
Based in Brazil; fluent in Portuguese and English.
3+ years of experience in accounting, controllership, or financial operations.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP or international accounting frameworks.
Solid experience with close cycles, reconciliations, and reporting.
Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Experience with ERP or BI tools (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Power BI).
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and reliable.
Ability to work U.S.-aligned hours (MST – Phoenix time zone).
Preferred
CPA, ACCA, CMA, MBA, or similar credential.
Experience in franchise, multi-unit, SaaS, or recurring revenue businesses.
Background in a fast-growing, founder-led, mission-based organization.
Interest in sports, martial arts, or fitness industries.
Ideal Candidate
You're hands-on, disciplined, and dependable. You thrive on accuracy and process improvement. You understand both the details and the bigger picture.
