Financial Controller

About the Role

As our Financial Controller in Amsterdam, you will lead the company’s controlling function—driving financial accuracy, ensuring strong internal controls, and delivering the insights needed for sound decision‑making. You will oversee budgeting, cash flow management, performance analysis, compliance, and the month‑end close, ensuring the integrity of all financial data.

Beyond day‑to‑day operations, you will support audits, evaluate commercial agreements, and partner with leadership to strengthen financial discipline and operational efficiency. This is a full‑time (40‑hour) position, that requires presence in the office 4-days per week,
reporting directly to our Global Finance Leader in the U.S.

What You’ll Do

Financial Planning & Analysis

Prepare and manage the annual budget, monitor financial performance, and deliver regular financial reports and insights to the executive team.

Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure long‑term financial stability.

Identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement cost‑control measures to improve operational efficiency.

Cash Flow & Financial Operations

Manage cash flow and provide weekly cash flow reporting.

Reconcile financial records regularly to ensure accuracy, integrity, and strong financial analysis across all transactions.

Facilitate the month‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, including tax filings, audits, and VAT.

Controls, Compliance & Governance

Establish and maintain effective internal controls, including processes to prevent duplicate invoice entries, in partnership with the Accounts Payable team.

Provide oversight and guidance on financial controls to ensure consistent adherence to company procedures.

Strategic & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with the executive team to support and execute strategic plans.

Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, to support the company’s financial needs.

What You’ll Need

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (RC or RA preferred).

Proven experience in a financial role, 3 - 5 years accounting/financial analysis experience required.

Familiarity with Dutch GAAP concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting.

Proficient in financial software and knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI, Word, Teams and Outlook.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English & Dutch, is required.
