We are looking for a Financial Controller at our Amsterdam HQ, 32-40 hours.
What our Financial Controllers do
• Own the numbers that matter. Take responsibility for accurate and timely monthly and year-end close processes, including P&L and balance sheet reviews
• Lead key reporting moments. Drive the preparation of annual statutory accounts and coordinate audits across the Netherlands and key European markets (Germany, Belgium, UK, Spain)
• Raise the bar on financial control. Improve internal controls, push automation, and streamline processes across the organisation
• Handle complexity with confidence. Work on topics like transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and purchase price allocation
• Support business decisions. Contribute to business cases, review transactions, and approve payments when needed
• Partner across the business. Collaborate closely with the finance team and other departments to keep operations running smoothly
• Keep things moving forward. Support ad hoc requests and adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment
You have
• Professional qualification. RA qualified (or close to completion) is a must.
• Relevant experience of 5+ years in financial reporting or accounting, ideally within Dutch GAAP
• Audit background. Big 4 experience is a strong plus
• Technical strength with a solid understanding of accounting, tax, internal controls, and financial processes
• Systems knowledge. Experience with Odoo and consolidation tools is a plus
• Analytical mindset with strong Excel skills and an interest in automation (AI included)
• Communication skills. Fluent in English and able to translate financial topics into clear insights
• Ownership mindset and comfortable taking responsibility, solving problems, and dealing with ambiguity
• Adaptability. You thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
• Team spirit. You bring energy, humour, and collaborate easily with others
