Leads the day-to-day general ledger, month/quarter/year-end close, reconciliations, and statutory reporting for the company. Ensures accurate, timely financial statements in line with GAAP/IFRS, maintains a strong control environment, and manages a team of accountants while partnering with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• General Ledger & Close
• Own monthly/quarterly/year-end close calendar; ensure on-time, accurate financial statements.
• Review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, deferrals, and intercompany eliminations.
• Maintain a chart of accounts and accounting policies; resolve complex accounting issues.
• Reconciliations & Controls
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations (banks, AR/AP, payroll, VAT, fixed assets).
• Strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties, and documentation.
• Lead remediation of control or audit findings.
• Statutory, Audit & Tax Support
• Prepare statutory accounts and local filings; coordinate with external auditors.
• Provide workpapers for corporate tax, indirect tax, and transfer-pricing teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policy, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversight
• Supervise AP/AR cutoffs, aging reviews, credit notes, and provisions for doubtful accounts.
• Align P2P and O2C processes with accounting policies and close requirements.
• Fixed Assets & Inventory (as applicable)
• Manage capitalization policy, asset register, depreciation, impairments, and disposals.
• Partner with Ops on inventory valuation, standard costs, and physical counts.
• Systems & Process Excellence
• Improve ERP use (e.g., SAP / Oracle), automate reconciliations, and enhance close efficiency.
• Drive process standardization, SOPs, and continuous improvement.
• Team Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants; assign workloads and set performance goals.
• Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and service to internal stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Partnership
• Collaborate with FP&A on actuals vs. plan, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Partner with Treasury on cash accounting and bank reconciliations; with Procurement/Legal on vendor terms and compliance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred.
• 5–8+ years progressive accounting experience, including 2–3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in a SaaS company is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, month-end close, consolidations, and reconciliations.
• ERP experience (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite/D365) and reconciliation tools; advanced Excel.
• Proven track record improving processes/controls and partnering cross-functionally.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
