Finance Transformation Analyst - AI & Automation

About the Role:

We're looking for a Finance Analyst who combines strong financial acumen with a passion for leveraging AI and automation to transform how we work. As an Agent Builder, you will be embedded in our finance function, supporting us on core monthly tasks whilst actively helping us identify and implement smarter and faster ways of doing things.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in financial analysis and corporate finance.

Key Responsibilities:

· Champion the adoption of AI tools across the finance team — from automating repetitive tasks like reconciliations and data extraction, to documenting processes and upskilling colleagues along the way.

· Support day-day finance operations within our portfolio to ensure full understanding and accuracy of our revenue and cost streams.

· Facilitate month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

· Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

· Assist with bank reconciliations and intercompany recharges within our own portfolio, and with Valsoft HQ.

· Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity in the data and analysis we provide.

· Work with our internal and external audit teams, preparing and submitting audit schedules, documentation and financial data as required.

· Assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting in line with deadlines.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude), applying them to finance workflows and with ability to evaluate the outputs.

· Strong Excel / data skills, ideally with Power BI or similar reporting tools.

· Keen to map out data flows and able to demonstrate interest and experience in applying AI tools in a finance context.

· Experience with accounting software (NetSuite experience preferable).

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT literacy (e.g. Power BI, pivot tables, lookups).

Finance & Business Skills:

· A keen interest in developing a long-term career in finance and accounting.

· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.

· Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations, including compliance considerations when introducing AI.

· Appreciation of where inefficiencies may exist to drive change in our processes.

Transformation & Change Skills:

· Process mapping and redesign – identify what to automate, augment or eliminate.

· Be an Agent Builder – drive initiatives from idea to implementation.

· Strong communication skills to gain Stakeholder engagement – able to explain AI concepts to engage the finance and cross functional teams on the journey to change and improve.

Mindset and Behaviours:

· Must be fluent in English; proficiency in Italian and Spanish would be an advantage.

· Must be able to work to European time zone hours of 9am-5pm.

· Accurate attention to detail, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

· An individual who has strong finance foundations, passion to drive change and constantly look for new ways of working.
