Finance Projects Manager
For our Finance Global Expert Hub – Projects, Analytics & Automation capability community, we are looking for a Project Manager in our global Finance Projects team.
In Finance Projects & Divestments we have the privilege to deal with multiple types of cross-functional projects which have an impact on Finance such as ERP projects (SAP-related IT implementations), Mergers & Integrations and Divestments. This allows us to collaborate globally across our organization, actively drive functional guidance, ensure risk mitigation, validation, assessment & governance and contribute end-to-end.
As a Project Manager for Finance Projects, you assess financial and process impacts, support the design of new approaches and business models, ensure global Bayer standards, communicate and conduct project activities in the area of Finance, with a wide scope of areas, like Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.
In this role you will be responsible to:
Actively drive the design and implement accounting and reporting processes to enable the reporting of Bayer Financial Statements for different kinds of projects like acquisitions, business model changes, integrations, mergers (with/without SAP), implementation of manual combined system approaches, e.g.
Perform R2R GPO Representation: actively contribute as cross-functional subject matter expert in ERP/BI projects, by focusing on the functional design and implementation of the activities according to Bayer financial standards
Conduct migration and M&A projects in the area of Finance (Financial Accounting and Management Accounting) for the transfer of the correspondent assets and liabilities into the new company, including all legal requirements
Prepare and support the alignment with all stakeholders (including external service providers) ensuring transparent and direct communication
Act as interface between IT and R2R organization for new ERP/BI projects
Execute methodology for Risk and Impact assessment for new projects, by using analytical tools and discussing requirements with GPOs/CoEs and aligning input from the project organization
Support joint knowledge build up in the team. Contribute to the creation of project documentation guidelines and ensure that third parties running Bayer ERP projects adhere to it
Track status of projects activities and follow-up on potential risks
Collaboration and alignment with senior stakeholders make very strong stakeholder management skills a must for this position.
In performing this role your key stakeholders will be Global Finance Process Owners, IT ERP Projects, M&A HQ, global and local Accounting & Controlling teams, and external consultants & auditors.
We would expect from you:
Experience in global projects, contributing as a functional subject matter expert for one or more areas within Record to Record – understand project roles, phases, main issues
Solid financial knowledge (general but also BKA and BMA guidelines).
Good understanding of E2E financial processes (from SAP unconsolidated process till Consolidated reporting process).
Strong understanding of Bayer organizational structures
Comprehensive understanding of accounting versus controlling requirements
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to push others towards adherence to standards
Good coordination and influencing skills
Strong and trustful team player
Ability to understand the big picture, extract the key messages and communicate to stakeholders
Digital mindset to identify opportunities to optimize processes/project activities by active use of analytical tools
Push for lean and pragmatic approaches to reduce overall complexity
Ability to identify how and when we create value for our stakeholders
