About the Internship
DI is seeking a motivated, tech-forward Accounting or Finance student for a dynamic summer and fall internship experience. This is not a traditional “sit back and observe” internship you will contribute to real projects, support day-to-day finance operations, and gain exposure to systems, technology, and operational strategy within a fully remote organization.
This role is ideal for a student who is excited about the future of finance, business operations, systems, and emerging technology, including AI tools and workflow automation.
Throughout the internship, you will work directly with DI’s Senior Accounting Manager and Vice President of Finance while collaborating across multiple teams and initiatives.
What You’ll Experience
During this internship, you will:
Gain hands-on experience supporting daily accounting and operational processes
Learn how finance supports organizational decision-making and business operations
Build exposure to financial systems, CRM platforms, and process improvement initiatives
Participate in conversations around operational strategy, systems thinking, and innovation
Develop professional communication and remote workplace collaboration skills
Gain insight into the global travel and tourism industry and the work of nonprofit association

Preferred Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
Foundational understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while staying proactive and communicative
Interest in systems, operational processes, and emerging technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Positive, professional, and solutions-oriented mindset
Internship Details
Timeline: May – October 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST
Compensation: $20/hour
Location: 100% Remote
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
The Experience Beyond the Internship
Upon successful completion of the internship, the selected intern will be invited to attend Destinations International’s 2026 Business Operations Summit in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, October 27–29, 2026, with travel and attendance expenses covered by Destinations International.
This experience provides direct exposure to professionals and educational sessions across Finance, HR, IT, Operations, and Data Analytics while offering valuable networking and career development opportunities within the global travel and tourism industry.
As part of the experience, the intern will also have the opportunity to see projects and initiatives they supported throughout the internship come to life in a professional event setting.
