Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the company’s accounting and finance operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial records. This includes overseeing reporting, audits, tax and regulatory compliance, internal controls, and financial planning while also mentoring the accounting team and supporting the company’s strategic and operational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Finance Manager (Chief Accountant) is responsible for leading the company’s accounting and finance operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records. This role plays a vital part in supporting strategic financial planning, maintaining regulatory compliance, and safeguarding the company’s financial health. The Finance Manager will oversee reporting, audits, and internal controls while ensuring alignment with Philippine accounting standards and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable/Receivable, General Ledger, Inventory, and Revenue Recognition.
• Prepare and review monthly Financial Statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
• Provide the monthly financial statement analysis to the local GM.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes on time.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Philippine regulatory bodies:
• Coordinate and lead both internal and external audits.
• Improve, implement, and sustain internal control systems and accounting policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial planning.
• Mentor, manage, and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance and professional growth.

Requirements:
Must-have Skills / Qualification:

Job Requirements – Finance Manager / Chief Accountant

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

• CPA or equivalent professional certification (required)

Experience

• Minimum of 8 - 10 years of progressive accounting experience

• At least 5 years in a managerial role

• Strong background in financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit coordination

• Industry-specific experience (e.g., manufacturing, retail, or related fields)

• Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS)

Core Financial Expertise

• Accounting knowledge (GAAP, IFRS): Mastery of financial principles and reporting standards

• Budgeting and forecasting: Ability to develop accurate financial projections and manage expenses

• Financial reporting: Skilled in preparing and presenting financial statements, dashboards, and analysis

Compliance & Risk Management

• Internal controls: Designing and implementing processes to safeguard assets and prevent fraud

• Regulatory compliance: Staying up to date with tax laws and government regulations (e.g., BIR)

• Audit coordination: Effective liaison with both internal and external auditors

Communication & Leadership

• Clear reporting: Translating complex financial concepts into practical insights for decision-making

• Team management: Leading and mentoring accounting staff to ensure high performance

• Cross-functional collaboration: Partnering with procurement, operations, and executive leadership teams

Tools & Technology Proficiency

• ERP systems (e.g., Info SL, SAP, Oracle) to support finance and accounting operations

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros
