Job Overview
The Field Service Helper will support and learn from experienced Field Service Mechanics in both shop and field environments. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in crane and heavy equipment maintenance by gaining hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of equipment.
This position will require travel to job sites as needed.
Responsibilities
Keeps shop and maintenance area clean and within OSHA requirements.
Support and encourage continuous improvements of the company’s processes, including safety programs
Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures
Requirements
0–2 years of experience in the crane, heavy equipment, diesel, or related mechanical field or completion of a diesel/heavy equipment technical program
Basic understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, or mechanical systems preferred
Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills in heavy equipment repair
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Commitment to safety and safe work practices
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn service-related systems
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred
Preferred Requirements
Diesel or heavy equipment technical school certification
Exposure to crane or heavy equipment industry
Familiarity with tools and basic mechanical practices
