The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AC and DC charging systems at customer sites. This role requires strong technical expertise in charging infrastructure, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently across multiple locations. The FSE is critical to ensuring operational excellence, uptime, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, commission, configure, and deploy AC and DC chargers at customer locations.
Perform routine maintenance, preventive checks, and emergency repairs on charging stations.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, coordinating with internal support teams as necessary.
Provide on-site and remote technical support and training to customers on charger operation, commissioning, and safety.
Document service activities accurately and update internal systems with service reports.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and company policies.
Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, representing the company professionally.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Field Technician, or similar role, preferably in charging infrastructure or related electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, charger commissioning, hardware, and diagnostics tools.
Familiarity with software integration, reporting systems, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Solid understanding of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations and compliance in technical field operations.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-oriented mindset.
Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours as needed.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
First-time fix rate (%) for AC/DC charger interventions.
Average response time to service requests.
Customer satisfaction score (CSAT) or Net Promoter Score (NPS).
Compliance with service documentation and reporting standards.
Number of preventive maintenance visits completed vs. planned.
Reduction in downtime and resolution time for critical incidents.
Successful commissioning of new AC/DC chargers according to schedule.
