Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to support installation, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution equipment in critical environments. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, traveling to customer sites, and resolving complex electrical issues.
You will act as a key technical resource in the field, ensuring systems operate safely and reliably while maintaining strong communication with both customers and internal teams.
What You’ll Do:
System Installation & Startup
• Assist with installation and commissioning of electrical distribution equipment
• Perform system checks, validation, and functional testing
• Configure and support HMI and control interfaces
• Ensure all work aligns with applicable electrical codes and safety standards
Diagnostics & Field Support
• Troubleshoot and repair issues involving 3-phase systems, transformers, and distribution equipment
• Interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams to diagnose problems
• Perform root cause analysis in active operational environments
Customer Interaction & Team Collaboration
• Serve as the on-site technical point of contact
• Work closely with engineering and support teams to resolve technical challenges
• Provide guidance and basic training to customer personnel
• Deliver clear updates on system status, findings, and next steps
Reporting & Process Improvement
• Complete detailed service documentation and reports
• Track labor, materials, and service activities accurately
• Identify repeat issues and recommend improvements
• Contribute to internal documentation and training resources
Required Qualifications:
• 3–7+ years of experience in field service, electrical maintenance, or similar roles
• Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical and mechanical systems
• Familiarity with 24V, 120V, and 480V systems
• Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge
• Experience working with breakers, fuses, transformers, and related components
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
• Willingness to travel frequently (75% or more)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet pre-employment screening requirements
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Preferred Experience:
• Exposure to data center or critical power environments
• Experience with switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, or similar equipment
• Commissioning or startup support experience
• OSHA or formal safety training
