We’re looking for a technically strong, customer-focused Field Service & Installation Technician based in Victoria to primarily support our customers across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, variety, autonomy, and building strong customer partnerships.

About the role:
This is a field-based role responsible for supporting customer sites across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, including regular intrastate and interstate travel. Travel is a core component of this role, and flexibility to attend customer sites at short notice is essential.
You’ll install, commission, service, and maintain specialised Matthews equipment across a wide range of production environments. Working across mechanical, electrical, and software-driven systems, you’ll support PLC-controlled equipment and integrated data capture solutions.
You’ll enjoy variety, independence, and direct customer engagement while troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Key responsibilities
Service, and maintain Matthews equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance
Provide professional on-site and phone support communication to customers
Install and commission new equipment
Train customer operators on equipment use
Complete service reports and job documentation accurately
Manage tools, spare parts, and vehicle stock
Work safely in line with WHS requirements
Participate in an on-call roster as required
What we’re looking for
Willingness to travel frequently across South Australia and Tasmania
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively
Willingness to learn new technology and systems
Comfortable working across different customer sites
Current Australian driver’s licence
