Field Robot Operator

As a Field Robot Operator, you will be responsible for deploying and following our robot fleet in Zurich. This is a full-time position, but we are also open to offer an hourly-based, part-time role ideal for students or individuals seeking a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. You will work closely with remote operations teams to ensure the robot is deployed safely between merchants and customers and successfully and efficiently carries our deliveries in accordance with our target volumes. For individuals that are eager to get full exposure to robot operations or seek more variety in daily tasks, it is also possible to combine the Field Robot Operator and Remote Robot Supervisor role.

What you’ll be doing:
• Field Operating: Following the robot (e.g. on an eBike, eScooter or inline skates) with a remote control, ensuring safe and efficient deployment of robots between merchants and customers and supporting the robot on its delivery drives, with a focus on meeting our delivery volume targets and ensuring public safety. In addition, assisting the robots with swapping of batteries, running the courier application for deliveries and maintaining the fleet cleanliness during live operations.
• Intervention and Safety: Perform the critical safety responsibility of intervening and controlling the robot in the field in case the autonomous or remote operations/supervision fails.
• Public Interactions: The Field Operator role is very much the "human face" of RIVR as it is likely to be the most common way that members of the public will interact with our robots. Therefore professionally handling different situations and interactions with members of the public in live operations is a key responsibility of the role.
• Data & Feedback: As we are building and scaling operations in Zurich, a requirement of this role is to collect data and feedback from the field and communicate this to various internal teams with the view to improve operational efficiency, safety and value for our partners.
• Varia: Assisting with the onsite team to build and scale the Zurich operations by helping out with other tasks and offering support when needed to technical and remote operations teams when required.

What you must have:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Language: Proficient in German and knowledge of basic English.

Get some bonus points:
• Prior experience working as courier for food delivery platforms.
• Flexibility for shifts or extended hours during critical operations.
• Prior experience with operation of machines or equivalent.
