JATEC is an established Edmonton-based company that has been connecting communities for over 40 years. We have expertise in the installation of street lighting, highway sign infrastructure, fiber optics, and underground utilities for residential development.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Project Manager, the QA/QC Project Coordinator is responsible for the administration and oversight of JATEC’s quality control program. This role ensures that installation work is performed in compliance with specifications and project/client requirements. The QA/QC Project Coordinator conducts inspections, maintains documentation, communicates directly with field crews and client representatives, and provides accurate reporting to support the successful delivery of utility and infrastructure projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer quality control program, including inspections and verification of project specifications as per Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
Provide on-site guidance and support to supervisors and crews to ensure work meets specifications.
Identify non-conformance issues, document findings, and track corrective actions.
Ensure established checklists are completed as per ITP during the installation of utility cable, highway signs, light base foundations, and sign structures.
Perform independent inspections at the completion of installations to verify compliance with specifications.
Maintain accurate quality control documentation for project records and future reference.
Provide timely submission of quality assurance documentation to the required personnel.
Communicate directly with field crews and client representatives to identify, track, and resolve quality issues.
Support project teams by ensuring quality standards are understood and upheld.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Journeyperson Electrician certification or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction, preferably in civil or utility infrastructure projects.
Minimum 2-3 years in a QA/QC role.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam and general file management.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints.
Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
