Field Mechanic
Asbell companies is currently seeking a FIELD MECHANIC to work out of our Carl Junction, MO location. Successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the equipment in the fleet while ensuring all safety requirements are met. This includes repair and preventative maintenance on equipment as necessary to ensure proper operating condition.
Our fleet includes diesel trucks of all sizes, plus tons of yellow iron - you'll have the chance to work on anything and everything.
Job Duties:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual is to adhere to all local, state, OSHA, MSHA and environmental regulations as outlined in the Employee Safe Work Guidelines, Safety Rules sign-off sheet and any/all information provided by Asbell Companies.
Performs repairs and routine preventive maintenance
Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards
Maintains a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area
Requirements:
Preferably 5 years of experience in diesel repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods and practices of engine repair, mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance.
Working knowledge of safe equipment practices
Education/certifications are a plus.
Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner
Competency using various computer systems to record and document repairs and diagnose problems
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Mechanic
Class B CDL
OSHA 10 Hour
Basic computer & mathematical skills
Work independently and reliably
Must be able to Lift 70 pounds safely
