Do you have a passion for sports, an eye for detail, and the skills to keep fields looking their best? The Crystal Lake Park District is searching for a motivated Field Maintenance/Tournament Attendant to help maintain our premier fields at Lippold Park—plus oversee tournaments that keep our community active and engaged!
What You’ll Do
Field & Facility Upkeep: Complete daily and weekly maintenance tasks to keep our fields in tip-top shape.
Equipment Repairs: Fix picnic tables, scoreboards, fences, and more, ensuring safe and functional spaces.
Tournament Supervision: Be the go-to person during events—greet teams, manage logistics, and resolve any on-the-spot issues.
Groundskeeping & Cleaning: Keep dugouts, offices, garages, and surrounding areas neat and clean.
Safety First: Carry out and promote top safety practices, spotting potential hazards and addressing them quickly.
What It Takes
Experience: At least one year of field maintenance or related Park District maintenance experience.
Skills & Knowledge: Comfortable operating mowers, specialized field equipment, and various hand tools.
Team Player: Enjoy collaborating with coworkers, patrons, community groups, and other agencies.
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and handle public requests or concerns with a smile.
License & Certs: Valid driver’s license, CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Positive Mindset: Stay cool under pressure, be self-motivated, and tackle multiple tasks and deadlines with ease.
