About Your Role
The Field Inspection Supervisor oversees the evaluation and documentation of large commercial water meter systems and related infrastructure. Conduct field inspections and condition assessments of meters, vaults, and associated components, while performing site surveys to verify accessibility, installation constraints, and existing conditions in preparation for AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) readiness. Additionally, review and validate field data, photographs, and inspection reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma
What You’ll Need to Get the Job Done
5+ years of experience in utility inspection, water systems, construction inspection, or related field
Experience inspecting water meters, meter vaults, or underground utilities preferred
Advanced understanding of construction materials, able to identify cast iron, concrete and composite materials visually.
Prior supervisory or team lead experience in field operations
Ability to read utility maps, as-builts, and construction drawings
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience using tablets, mobile data collection software, and GIS based applications
Experience inspecting water meters, meter vaults, or underground utilities preferred
What Will Make You Stand Out
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Experience supporting AMI or meter replacement programs - Preferred
Knowledge of water distribution systems and water main infrastructure. - Preferred
Experience working with municipalities or public utilities. - Preferred
What You’ll Do
Conduct field inspections and condition assessments of large commercial water meters, vaults, and associated infrastructure
Perform surveys and verify accessibility, installation constraints, and existing conditions for AMI readiness- Review and validate field data, photographs, and inspection reports for accuracy and completeness
Coordinate with project management regarding production goals, schedule updates, and issue resolution- Ensure adherence to safety standards and local utility requirements
Identify and escalate field conflicts, access issues, or infrastructure deficiencies
