Field EHS Coordinator
Reports To: This is a Field Environmental Health and Safety Role, reporting to the Corporate EHSQ Manager.
Location: Various job sites across BC & Canada, including the head office in North Vancouver. A typical working rotation is 21 days on/ 7 days off. Accommodation and meal allowance provided.

Surespan Construction is looking for a Field EHS Coordinator to join with our project teams, on a contract basis, working across all Provinces and Territories throughout Canada. The candidate will be required to travel extensively to ensure multiple projects are mobilized safely and must therefore be flexible on working days.
The position will primarily be required to focus on; ensuring projects are mobilized safely, monitoring Project EHS compliance and ensuring that the teams and equipment are demobilized safely at the end of the project. The successful candidate will have a successful track record carrying out these activities and must thrive on the challenges of a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop EHS plans prior to project kick offs in alignment to client and legal requirements
Implement the safety program as established within the Corporate EHS Manual
Identify requirements and implement the EHS inspection program throughout the duration of the project
Facilitate safety orientations for all new hires and guests visiting the site;
Enforce EHS Policies and Procedures among the team, including contractors and sub-trade partners
Lead site safety meetings and record minutes
Submit the required daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports
Identify and address all unsafe acts and conditions
Initiate and support incident responses, notifications, and investigation activities
Conduct Toolbox meetings for site personnel
Review all Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA)
Conduct detailed Job Hazard Analyses for all tasks on site
Review and implement Safe Work Practices
Lead the site Emergency Response protocols in cooperation with site supervision
Maintain all site paper and electronic filing systems
Skills/Qualifications
Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or NCSO designation
Current Level 3 First Aid accreditation
Min 5 years’ experience in an EHS Position within the construction industry.
Excellent problem solving, leadership and communication skills
Ability to work with safety data and produce reports using computer-based technology
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to take ownership and influence safety behaviors on site
Excellent comprehension of OH&S Regulation in multiple jurisdictions
