JOB TITLE: Field Engineer (Instrument)

LOCATION: SULAIBIYA WASTE WATER TREATMENT & RECLAMATION PLANT, KUWAIT.

REPORTS TO: Plant Assistant Manager.

Role:-

The Instrument Engineer will be reporting directly to the Plant Assistant Manager. The position includes, but not limited to, responsible for the Instrumentation function for the water reclamation plant. This position is to guide, control and supervise a team of technicians in performing preventive, proactive and corrective maintenance works in a water reclamation plant.

Responsibilities:-

●    Report day-to-day activities to direct manager and recommend to improve reliability of instrument and the system.

●    Maintain and improve reliability of Field instruments and control systems throughout the plant.

●    Assisting on New installations & Plant modification works for instrumentation & PLC systems.

●    Conduct field surveys and perform troubleshooting to identify and correct any Instrument & control system issues

●    Read and modify AutoCAD drawings for updating the As-built.

●    Associating the Maintenance program scheduling and developing for Preventive, Predictive&    extraordinary Maintenance.

●    Maintain the minimum O&M spare parts and assist for annual inventory with WH responsible.

●    Suggest the management for low-cost maintenance operation & improvements.

●    Prior to each job, preparing material & manpower assessments.

●    Preparation of budget forecast for preceding year.

●    Preparation of comprehensive technical reports as required by the management.

●    Organize in a well manner on all jobs with subordinates in a timely and perfect manner.

●    Strong follow-up on Safety enforcement by JSA Procedures/Instructions among their team.

●    Co-ordination with Mech/Elec & operation for smooth running of the plant.

●    Calibration and troubleshooting of Field instruments, Analyzers and control systems

●    Able to read and understand P&IDs and control loop descriptions of various plant process and equipment operation

●    Develop and understand the drawings for PLC system, remote I/O panel wiring diagram and network drawings

●    Execute assigned tasks efficiently as per the instruction given based on plant process/maintenance  requirement and update the status periodically

●    Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service.

●    Monitoring of process parameters, online instruments and individual system performances through plant automation system (PLC/SCADA) and initiate necessary action

●    Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair report/plan to solve the problem.

●    Facilitates and maintains high EHS performance on the site accomplishments for all maintenance activities.

●    To work in complete autonomy and reviewing the maintenance records, logs day to day, to clear deficiencies immediately.

●    Perform other tasks as directed.

●    Build and foster employee engagement with an action plan in place and/or reflected in business plans, and able to demonstrate appropriate progress against agreed employee engagement and cultural development initiatives.

●    Optimize and assist with the development of operational quality system procedures/guidelines/documents for Water Treatment.

●    Ensures team adheres to EHS & Quality processes and procedures, Checks job sites for potential hazards and reports when things go against company policies.

●    Maintains appropriate housekeeping for plant facilities cooperating with other departments.

●    Ability to work independently most of the time, but report to his supervisors.

●    Train and coach, his team of Technicians continuously.

●    Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem

●    Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics engineer or equivalent. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements will be considered.

●    At least 10 years work experience for the graduate engineer or 18 years of work experience for the Diploma engineer., Supervisory skills in 5 years minimum in commissioning/maintenance management. (Preferably in water & waste water treatment and RO plants/power/Oil refineries/chemical industries).

●    Experts in Instrumentations for troubleshooting, tuning and repairing.

●    Knowledge on PLC, SCADA and other control systems

●    Fluent in English speaking/ writing. Good communication skills.

●    Ability to work as Instrument engineer and support plant automation Engineer.

●    Experience in handling small group of team members

●    Work experience in any large Water treatment plant process, Chemical, O&G plants or Power plants or any other continuous process industries

●    Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills

●    Ready to work under pressure and to deliver within deadlines

●    Shall possess excellent interpersonal skills and shall be a good team player

●    To provide on-call support during plant emergencies and to Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements to inspect plant operations.
