Job Description
About the Role
As a Field Application Specialist, you will serve as a trusted technical consultant and brand ambassador for the Genomadix Cube Platform and associated assays. You will partner closely with clinical laboratories to deliver seamless installations, hands-on training, and on-site troubleshooting — ensuring every customer is set up for success from day one. This role sits at the intersection of science, service, and strategy, requiring equal parts technical depth, communication excellence, and independent drive.
We are looking for someone who brings deep, hands-on experience working within CAP- and CLIA-regulated clinical laboratory environments and understands the operational, compliance, and workflow demands these settings require.
This is a field-based position with approximately 70–90% travel, primarily across the United States and Canada, with occasional international travel based on customer needs.
What You'll Do
Customer Engagement & Implementation
Plan, coordinate, and execute system installations, product training, and on-site verification services for clinical laboratory customers.
Deliver best-practice guidance and hands-on instruction in accordance with established SOPs.
Build lasting relationships with laboratory staff, serving as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams.
Represent Genomadix with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a customer-first mindset.
On-Site Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
Provide on-site support to identify and resolve operational and technical issues as they arise during installations, training, and follow-up visits.
Apply critical thinking across instrumentation, software, and molecular applications to keep customers running smoothly.
Document field observations and escalate complex issues to internal Technical Support teams when appropriate.
Serve as the voice of the customer internally, communicating recurring challenges and feedback to cross-functional teams.
Sales & Business Support
Partner with the Sales team on pre- and post-implementation activities to drive customer adoption and satisfaction.
Identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience and share field insights with internal stakeholders.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain accurate records in accordance with the company's Quality Management System.
Uphold HIPAA guidelines to protect client and patient confidentiality.
Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including Genomadix marketing and compliance policies.
Note: This list is not exhaustive and may evolve to reflect the needs of the business.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
College diploma or degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Engineering, or a related field.
2–3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or in molecular diagnostics.
Substantial, hands-on experience working within CAP- and CLIA-regulated laboratories — you understand how these environments operate, what compliance looks like in practice, and how to speak the language of laboratory professionals.
In-depth familiarity with clinical laboratory workflows, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
Working knowledge of molecular biology and chemistry principles.
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional communication skills — able to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Confident presenter with the ability to engage and train both individuals and groups.
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
Proactive and resourceful — anticipates customer needs and follows through with solutions.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in PC networking, Windows, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Committed to staying current with evolving technical knowledge and clinical practices.
Valid Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods (5+ hours).
Ability to lift and carry 15–20 lbs.
Availability for 70–90% travel across the US and Canada, with occasional international travel
