FIBER/TELECOM INSTALLER

Job Summary:

Cal-Ore Telephone Co. is seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Fiber/Telecom Installer. This role involves both inside and outside plant installations and requires a strong working knowledge of telecommunications systems and infrastructure.

Location & Coverage Area:
This position reports to the Dorris, CA office and requires regular travel within the regional service areas in Northern California and Southern Oregon.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and maintain copper and fiber service drops, ONTs, routers, DSL equipment, and radio equipment.

Configure and support customer premise equipment, including multi-line key systems and PBX systems.

Perform wiring and rewiring of new subscriber systems.

Troubleshoot and repair switching equipment, voice frequency repeaters, loop extenders, and other telecommunications components.

Construct aerial and buried fiber drops and conduits as needed.

Run and manage fiber cross-connects at central office or remote locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in fiber and copper splicing.

Working knowledge of RUS (Rural Utilities Service) standards and practices.

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.

Background in telecommunications construction is a strong plus.
