Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Commodity Trading Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the acquisition and sale of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials, with a strong emphasis on stainless steel grades such as 304, 316, and 330. This position plays a critical role in expanding our market presence, developing new business opportunities, and managing inventory to support and enhance our existing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, acquire, and sell ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials, with a focus on stainless steel grades 304, 316, and 330.
• Develop and implement strategies to enter new markets and expand the company’s trading footprint.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and global demand to optimize trading decisions and inventory management.
• Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
• Meet and exceed quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as established by management.
• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate logistics, compliance, and support functions.
• Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market developments, and inventory status.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in ferrous and non-ferrous scrap material trading.
• Demonstrated expertise in stainless steel grades 304, 316, and 330.
• Proven track record of market development and business growth in the commodities sector.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to analyze market data and make informed trading decisions.
• Experience with inventory management and supply chain processes.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time.
• Availability to work in-office when not traveling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Quarterly sales and acquisition targets for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials.
• Market expansion and development of new supplier/customer relationships.
• Inventory turnover rates and optimization metrics.
• Profitability and margin improvement benchmarks.
• Compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Travel and Work Requirements

• This position requires a minimum of 50% travel, both domestically and internationally, to meet with suppliers, customers, and industry partners.
• When not traveling, the Commodity Trading Manager is expected to work from the company’s office location.
