Job Description
Lanes Group Rail Division is seeking an experienced and organised Fencing Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of fencing works across multiple rail sites throughout London.
This role will be responsible for managing fencing operations on rail infrastructure projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, to specification, and in line with client and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, manage, and supervise fencing works across multiple rail sites
Ensure all works are delivered safely and in compliance with rail standards, company procedures, and site-specific documentation
Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to meet programme and quality requirements
Carry out site inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure fencing installations meet specification
Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders regarding progress, risks, and programme
Support the preparation, review, and implementation of risk assessments, method statements, and work plans
Monitor productivity, performance, and compliance, driving continuous improvement
Skills and Experience Required:
SMSTS- Site Management Safety Training Scheme
CSCS Gold Card (preferred)
IOSH Managing Safely
Minimum of 5 years experience in fencing works, including supervisory or management responsibilities
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel to multiple sites across London
Experience delivering fencing works within live rail environments
Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Flexibility to work nights and weekends where operationally required
Non Essential Certificates and Experience:
PTS (Personal Track Safety)
Sentinel competency and valid sponsorship
Experience working to Network Rail and/or London Underground standards
