Female Disability Support Worker – Complex 1:1 In-Home Support
Bradbury, NSW | Morning & Afternoon Shifts | Ongoing
Cabramatta NSW - Monday and Wednesday 9am to 12pm
We are seeking an experienced Female Disability Support Worker to provide 1:1 in-home support for a participant living independently in Bradbury, NSW.
This is a complex support environment requiring a calm, trauma-informed, and highly consistent worker who can provide personal care, reassurance, and respectful redirection while maintaining strong professional boundaries.
Due to the nature of personal care and privacy requirements, this role is open to female applicants only (genuine occupational requirement).
About the Role
You will be supporting a participant with:
Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
Mental health complexity
Alcohol-related vulnerability
Periods of refusal, distress, and confusion
The home environment can at times be unclean, and the participant may experience incontinence, requiring:
Personal care support
Assistance with hygiene, cleaning, and bedding
Calm reassurance and emotional validation
Respectful withdrawal when support is refused
Supports are delivered 1:1 across two daily shifts (morning and afternoon) for Bradbury
Supports are delivered 1:1 across Monday and Wednesday 9am to 12pm in Cabramatta
Consistency and reliability are critical for this placement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care and continence support with dignity
Support hygiene, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment
Use validation, reassurance, and redirection during distress
Respect choice and control, including refusal of support
Follow Behaviour Support Plans and safety protocols
Maintain accurate, objective documentation
Communicate professionally with the support team and management
Prioritise participant and worker safety at all times
Essential Requirements
Female support worker (genuine occupational requirement – personal care & privacy)
Experience supporting people with complex needs, ABI, and/or mental health
Strong emotional regulation and calm communication style
Personal care and manual handling
Ability to work 1:1 in challenging environments
Comfortable supporting personal care and incontinence
Reliable availability for ongoing morning or afternoon shifts
Willingness to work as part of a small, consistent core team
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Highly Desirable
Mental Health First Aid
CPI / Crisis Prevention Intervention
Experience with trauma-informed practice
Experience supporting participants who may refuse care or become verbally distressed
Strong understanding of professional boundaries and least-restrictive practice
