About the Role ...

You will be a valued member of the supportive and friendly 6-person Feed mill team, who manufacture the poultry feed for our operation. Your role will include Batching and operation of all aspects of the plant, scheduling deliveries, trouble-shooting breakdowns and assisting in repairs and maintenance. This role reports to the Feed Mill Manager at Darwalla Group, a South-East Queensland poultry producer located in beautiful Mt Cotton. As a third-generation family business, Darwalla has been operating for over 75 years in Mt Cotton, with farms located in the Redlands, on the Darling Downs and in the Lockyer Valley.

About you ...

This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work. This industry is a 24/7 operation and therefore flexibility is essential to meet production demands. The work schedule consists of a morning and afternoon shift where overtime may be necessary on a day to day basis to meet demand. The successful candidate will be on afternoon shift starting at midday.

The successful candidate will have:

Current Forklift licence
Confined space entry licence
Good mechanical aptitude
Hands on approach
Demonstrated compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Problem solving skills
A positive attitude & flexible approach
Their own transport and current drivers’ licence
Physical ability to perform manual task’s

Highly advantageous:

Wheel loader licence
Working at heights certificate
Experience maintaining and/or operating a feed mill
