Job Description

AstraZeneca is advancing respiratory care—and we are seeking a Federal Account Manager (FAM) who will lead with purpose across the U.S. Federal healthcare ecosystem. This role is dedicated exclusively to Federal Government treatment facilities, including the Department of Defense (DoD), Veterans Affairs (VA), and Indian Health Service (IHS). With a focus on Respiratory Biologics and Respiratory Inhaled Therapies, you will be part of a specialized team that commits 100% of its time to Federal customers, bringing transformative therapies to those who have served and to communities in need.

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused pharmaceutical business. We are committed to excellence in the research, development and commercialization of prescription medicines. We aim to transform the lives of patients with improved outcomes and a better quality of life. Backed by AstraZeneca’s 40-year heritage in respiratory disease, our ambition is clear: to redefine asthma and COPD care through inhaled combinations as the foundation of treatment, biologics for patients with unmet needs, and scientific advances that enable disease modification. These priorities reflect our broader commitment to improve outcomes for millions of patients every year.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

As the Federal Account Manager, you will be the primary contact for senior collaborators at complex DOD Military Treatment Facilities, Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, and IHS sites. Your remit covers a multi-state geography and requires sophisticated account leadership, rigorous planning, and flawless execution

You will:

• Build and complete strategic account plans tailored to each facility and network's dynamics. Base these plans on deep knowledge of market demographics, federal payers, patient populations, and local care pathways.

• Partner closely with Federal Market Access leadership to align on quality programs, initiatives, EMR integrations, and evidence-based treatment algorithms for targeted populations—translating insights into practical, scalable solutions for customers.

• Leverage formulary access and approvals through disciplined implementation of the Strategic Targeting Plan, ensuring pull-through that is consistent with portfolio and brand strategies.

• Collaborate across the Biopharma Business Unit (BBU) and with Sales Leadership, National and Regional Account Directors, Scientific Affairs, and State Government Affairs to deploy a coordinated national strategy that delivers measurable growth in portfolio performance.

• Serve as a force multiplier for the Federal National Account Director, aligning field execution with national priorities, while adapting to evolving customer and market requirements.

• Communicate customer-specific findings, program outcomes, and opportunities across internal collaborators to sharpen execution, elevate customer experience, and accelerate adoption where clinically appropriate.

Success in this role will be defined by your ability to synthesize complex systems-level insights, anticipate change, and translate strategy into action. You will demonstrate mastery of our respiratory portfolio, disease-state and pathway knowledge, and the unique drivers of Federal care delivery to ensure every brand is positioned with clinical integrity and operational relevance. Above all, you will champion projects and initiatives that advance access, quality, and continuity of care for Federal patient populations—delivering impact that is both measurable and meaningful.
