Requirements:
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Specialist to lead and support the payroll process within our organization. This role will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, Technology, and external vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Mexican payroll legislation, proven experience in payroll system implementations, and English proficiency.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Implementation & Process Ownership
• Lead end‑to‑end implementation of the new payroll model for Mexico, including requirements gathering, testing, migration, and go‑live support.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and IT teams to define payroll processes, workflows, SLAs, and controls.
• Coordinate with external payroll providers, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and service quality.
• Develop and document payroll procedures, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
Payroll Operations
• Validate payroll calculations, statutory deductions, year‑end processes (ISR annual adjustment), and social security obligations (IMSS, INFONAVIT).
• Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws (LFT), tax laws (SAT), and social security regulations.
• Manage payroll audits, internal/external reviews, and support SOX or regulatory audits if applicable.
• Monitor changes in legislation affecting payroll and lead necessary updates.
Data Management & Reporting
• Ensure accuracy of employee data in HRIS and payroll systems.
• Generate and analyze payroll reports for stakeholders, including Finance and HR.
• Prepare KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize payroll processes.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for escalations related to payroll.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Manage and evaluate payroll vendor performance, tools, and service delivery
Skills:
Proven track record in payroll system implementation or transformation projects. (MUST)
Strong knowledge of:
• Mexican payroll legislation (ISR, IMSS, INFONAVIT).
• CFDI payroll stamping.
• Severance calculations, variable compensation, bonuses, and benefits taxation.
• Experience with major payroll or HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP, Ceridian, Meta4, or local Mexican payroll software).
