Family Medicine Residency Faculty Physician (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Family Medicine Residency Faculty Physician provides comprehensive clinical care and medical education within a family medicine residency training program. This role combines direct patient care with teaching, supervision, mentorship, and curriculum development, supporting the training of residents while delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide full-spectrum family medicine care in outpatient and/or inpatient settings consistent with program scope
• Supervise, teach, and evaluate family medicine residents in clinical settings
• Participate in resident education including didactic teaching, bedside instruction, and procedural training
• Serve as a clinical preceptor for resident continuity clinics
• Mentor residents in professional development, career planning, and scholarly activities
• Participate in curriculum development, academic planning, and program evaluation
• Contribute to resident assessment, milestone evaluations, and clinical competency committees
• Participate in call coverage, inpatient service, or obstetric care as required by the program
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty, advanced practice providers, and staff
• Engage in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives
• Participate in scholarly activity, research, or academic projects as appropriate
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Comply with ACGME, institutional, and professional standards
Qualifications
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Family Medicine
• Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
• Eligibility for hospital credentialing and faculty appointment
• Prior teaching or academic experience preferred
