The Role and Impact:
As a Manufacturing Failure Analysis Engineer, you will play a critical role in analyzing and improving Intel's cutting-edge silicon, package, platforms, and board process technologies. You will identify and investigate failures, driving process enhancements to improve yield, quality, and reliability. Your work will directly impact Intel's ability to deliver high-quality products that meet the demands of a competitive industry. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop innovative methodologies, contribute to new technology and product transfers, and ensure strategic failure analysis capabilities for future technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and investigate failures in silicon, package, platforms, and board process technologies to improve yield, quality, and reliability.
- Define failure analysis strategies and conduct lab work to evaluate electrical and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components, subcomponents, and systems to determine root causes.
- Conduct thorough investigations to explain fundamental interactions between materials and devices and identify root causes of failures.
- Develop electrical, analytical, and mechanical methodologies to establish strategic failure analysis capabilities for future technologies and products.
- Direct new technology and/or product transfer, manufacturing startup, and improve automation within the failure analysis process.
- Analyze failure reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence and ensure shared learning across sites.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics, Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-1+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 0 years of experience with a Master's degree.
- Proficiency in failure analysis techniques, methodologies, and tools.
- Strong technical expertise in evaluating electrical and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits and systems.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift, 4 days per week, rotating between day and night shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience managing projects and driving improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Leadership skills or experience leading improvement projects are advantageous.
