We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facility Security Officer to join our existing experienced team.
What do we look for in a Facility Security Officer?
Role Responsibilities
Security and Compliance
Knowledge of MOD security policies, JSPs (e.g. JSP 440), and government security standards
Experience implementing physical, personnel, and information security measures
Ability to maintain compliance with security regulations and audit requirements
Facility and Site Management
Day-to-day management of the facility
Experience managing secure buildings or government/military facilities
Oversight of contractors working in secure environments
Managing keys, passes, visitor control, and access permissions
Supporting business continuity and emergency planning
Risk Management & Assurance
Ability to conduct security risk assessments and produce mitigation plans
Monitoring threats and vulnerabilities affecting facilities
Supporting internal and external security audits
Ensuring secure storage of classified materials
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Liaising with military personnel, civil servants, contractors, and security teams
Delivering security briefings and awareness training
Writing clear reports and maintaining accurate security records
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge non-compliance appropriately
Health & Safety
Support H&S coordination, including policies, risk assessments (DSE), logs and training
Support and facilitate routine checks, inductions, drills, and contractor management
Support and ensure statutory compliance (fire, electrical, water hygiene, etc.)
What we’re looking for
Essential
Experience in MOD policies and procedures
Experience in Physical Security and facilities management
Experience in incident response and management
Highly organised, reliable, and discreet
Strong communication and stakeholder skills
Eligible for and willing to obtain DV clearance
Desirable
IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid or Fire Warden
Familiarity with access control, CCTV or alarm systems
Experience supporting an office fit out or systems upgrade
