GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Facility Manager!
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Compliance and Assets, the Facility Manager plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all facility infrastructure within a secure, highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role leads and oversees facility operations, preventive maintenance, and capital improvement initiatives to support reliable infrastructure with minimal disruption. The Facility Manager collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, Facilities teams, contractors, and compliance functions to promote a safe, secure, and consistently audit-ready environment.

Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Infrastructure Management
Oversee the performance, reliability, and condition of facility infrastructure across offices, manufacturing, and storage areas.
Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs covering HVAC, electrical, mechanical, life‑safety, and fire suppression systems.
Develop and prioritize maintenance plans to support production needs to minimize downtime and operational risk.
Act as the primary escalation point for facility‑related incidents, ensuring rapid response, containment, and resolution.
Renovations & Capital Projects
Manage the planning and execution of facility renovations, upgrades, and improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with internal Facilities teams, Security, and external vetted contractors throughout project lifecycles.
Evaluate renovation and capital project quotes, prepare comparative analyses, and provide clear recommendations to management.
Track project schedules, budgets, and milestones; proactively identify risks and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
Safety, Security & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with applicable building codes, occupational health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and internal policies.
Support facility inspections, audits, and compliance activities maintaining a high level of facility readiness.
Identify and address safety, security and compliance risks in partnership with cross-functional teams to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
Deliver clear and concise reporting on facility conditions, maintenance performance, risks, and planned activities.
Maintain regular communication with Operations and Leadership teams to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines.
Provide timely updates on issues, project progress and emerging risks impacting operations.
Leadership & Planning
Provide direction and oversight for daily facility activities, setting standards for execution, documentation, and follow‑through.
Contribute to longer‑term facility planning, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and prioritization of facility maintenance and capital investments.
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include routine facility walkthroughs, use of ladders or stairs, and inspection of building systems.
Must be capable of lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Availability outside regular business hours may be required to respond to facility emergencies.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in engineering, business, technology, the skilled trades, or a related field is preferred; equivalent, extensive professional experience will also be considered.
10+ years of progressive experience in facility operations, building maintenance, or infrastructure management.
Experience within a defence, industrial, manufacturing, or high‑security environment is strongly preferred.
Technical & regulatory knowledge of building systems, safety and compliance, provincial building, employment health & safety legislation.
Ability to prepare, manage and report on budget planning, job costing, and purchasing.
Demonstrated experience coordinating contractors, maintenance programs, and facility improvement projects.
Proficient in MS Office suite.
Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Security Requirements
