Location: Brooksville, FL (Brooksville Youth Academy)
Department: Operations / Facilities
Job Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, Day Shift
Pay: $20.00 / hour

Brooksville Youth Academy in Brooksville, Florida, is a secure, trauma-informed residential program serving adolescent boys. The facility provides structured therapeutic programming, education, recreation, and clinical services in a highly supervised setting designed to promote safety, accountability, and long-term success.
Youth typically remain in care for several months, participating in individual, group, and family therapy; life skills development; education; and restorative programming. Services are delivered within small group living units to support emotional stabilization, positive behavior development, and successful reintegration into the community.
About the Role
The Facility Maintenance Worker plays a critical role in supporting daily operations at Brooksville Youth Academy by maintaining a safe, clean, and fully functional environment for youth and staff. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on maintenance experience who takes pride in their work and wants to contribute to a mission-driven organization making a real impact.

Key Responsibilities
Perform general building and grounds maintenance, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance
Conduct routine facility inspections to identify safety hazards, repair needs, and maintenance issues
Support safety and security operations, including fire systems, alarms, and facility access controls
Monitor and maintain security-related systems and assist with facility opening and closure procedures
Coordinate and oversee contractor work related to maintenance, equipment, and grounds
Track required fire, safety, and health inspections and assist with corrective actions
Communicate maintenance needs and project updates with leadership and program staff
Maintain accurate documentation related to repairs, inspections, and completed work
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment drug screening
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional environment
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) or more years of facility maintenance or related experience
Experience coordinating maintenance projects or working with contractors
Physical Demands
• Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable
• Able to actively engage with youth, participate in physical interventions, and transport youth or staff as needed
• Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state
• Must pass evaluation of physical techniques and certification exams
