Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform minor renovations, painting, carpentry, and repairs to facilities.
• Run and maintain the fire pump on a weekly basis, recording all pressures and readings in a logbook in accordance with local fire codes.
• Monthly testing and inspection of all eyewash stations and recording all inspections into lo book
• Monthly inspections of all fire extinguishers and recording in log book as per local fire code.
• Monthly testing and inspections of all emergency lights and recording inspections into logbooks as per local fire code.
• Repair/replace washroom fixtures: faucets, toilets, urinals and hand dryers as required
• Repair, replace and move office furniture when required.
• Replace light bulbs and assist with ballast repairs and replacement (dual LOTO sign off required)
 
Key Characteristics 
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ensures buildings and equipment run safely and efficiently by performing repairs, maintenance,
• and inspections.
Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent, with training in electrical, or plumbing required
• Previous experience in building maintenance required
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and stand for long periods required
• Often requires valid forklift license, arial lift training, and WHMIS
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or
• collaborate with external contractors.
Working Conditions 
• Daytime shift
• Some lifting required
• Working from heights at times
• Some outdoor lawn maintenance and snow removal
Compensation
The estimated compensation range for this role is $24.04 - 28.85 CAD per hour.
