Facility Maintenance Assistant / Logistics Driver

Position Title: Facility Maintenance assistant / Logistics driver

Position Description:
Assists in general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment located at Taurus Engineering and makes deliveries and pickups to customers and vendors as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance assistant duties:
•    Follows instructions from the Facility Maintenance Manager/Supervisor to complete daily maintenance tasks. Tasks include, but are not limited to, assisting with the repair of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment, and painting as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
•    Assist in performing scheduled maintenance on production equipment, forklifts, company vehicles, and other various tasks that ensure the safety of Taurus personnel.
•    Maintain a clean and safe work area; promote safe work practices; and always observe safety procedures as outlined in Taurus safety policies, including local, state, and OSHA regulations.
•    Reports all accidents and/or potential hazards to the Safety Officer, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance manager immediately, or as reasonably possible
•    Operate a forklift, when needed, in completing maintenance tasks.
Logistics duties:
•    Perform weekly vehicle inspection. Notify maintenance of any issues affecting the safe operation of company vehicles.
•    Maintain a clean and fueled company vehicle
•    Make necessary deliveries to customers and vendors as directed by the logistics manager.    

Supervision Responsibilities: 

None

Organizational Responsibilities:
•    Receives directions from the Facility Maintenance Manager or Logistics manager. 
•    Interact professionally with other team members from various departments

Minimum Qualifications:    
Maintenance assistant:
•    Proficient in reading, writing in English, and general math
•    Mechanical aptitude
•    Work safely with power tools and hand tools
•    Climb up and down a ladder
•    Lift 50 lbs
Logistic driver: 
•    Minimum 25-year age requirement 
•    5-year clean driving history
•    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
•    Ability to operate company vehicles safely 
•    Operate company vehicles following local and state driving laws.
•    No regular travel is expected outside of a 50-mile radius.

Computer Skills:  
Basic skills required.

Work Environment: 

•    Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts 
•    Moderate to loud noise level 
•    Warehouse environment 
•    Occasionally exposure to high heat
•    Work in inclement weather
•    Frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne (proper PPE and Chemical SDSs) 
•    May require occasional daily overtime to include weekends.
