Position Summary
The Facilities Project Manager leads all phases of facility construction and renovation projects, including new construction, remodels, expansions, and decommissions. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining strict compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Success in this position requires strong technical acumen, proven project management capabilities, and excellent stakeholder collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules; proactively monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery
• Serve as primary liaison with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and local government officials to ensure quality workmanship and regulatory compliance
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and manage project budgets; track and control expenses throughout all project phases
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify adherence to building codes, safety standards, design specifications, and IEM quality standards
• Maintain accurate facility asset documentation and update design standards and construction specifications
• Identify and resolve project challenges, including delays, budget variances, and emergencies, implementing solutions that minimize impact on project timelines and objectives
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed on job sites and promote a culture of safety among all project participants
Supervision of Personnel
• This role will not be responsible for supervision/management of employees.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• 5+ years of experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects
• Demonstrated experience managing projects from conception through completion
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and safety regulations
• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Preferred
• Professional certification (PMP, CCM, LEED AP, or similar)
• Experience in commercial and specifically TI and ground up experience is a plus.
• Background in budgets exceeding $80 million
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position requires the ability to work in both office and active construction environments. Physical requirements include:
• Frequent site visits requiring walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating construction zones
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Visual acuity for reviewing plans, inspecting work, and assessing site conditions
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and moderate to loud noise levels at construction sites
• Travel to multiple project sites as required
Location
• The position will be hybrid out of our Fremont, CA office, and may require up to 50% travel to IEM facilities, supplier sites, compliance audits or conferences.
