What are we looking for in a Facilities & Equipment Engineering Manager?
We are looking for an experienced team player that isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and jump right in. If you are looking for a hands-off position, this may not be what you are looking for!
This position reports to the President and is a member of the Praxis Management Team. The Facilities & Equipment Engineering Manager will not only manage and oversee facilities, equipment and safety, but will also be expected to perform and support facilities projects, equipment maintenance, manufacturing and facilities process improvements, and equipment productivity and reliability initiatives. IT management, and safety duties for the company.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Responsible for Environmental Health & Safety; lead all safety initiatives as Safety Coordinator
Manage, conduct and document all aspects of equipment and facility maintenance and repair by means of direct reports, direct involvement or third parties
Ensure compliance with Praxis Quality Management System, OSHA guidelines and best practices
Mentor, train and oversee professional development of direct reports
Manage the installation and set-up of new equipment
Interface as required with all departments, IT and Facilities vendors and suppliers
Manage IT hardware inventory and ensure backup's are always available onsite for IT equipment needs
Interface with IT vendor to ensure Praxis's IT support needs are being met with appropriate licenses for software etc.
Backup and support Human Resources for IT needs related to new hire onboarding
Manage existing phone lines and phone hardware
Ensure that Praxis IT operating systems are up to date and can support our existing business needs
Develop and document training and troubleshooting procedures
Help implement and sustain Facilities & Safety continuous improvement initiatives
Work in partnership with Quality and Manufacturing to complete purchases of equipment
Maintain and utilize CMMS for planning and continuous improvement
Develop new equipment specifications (URS) to support capital equipment specification and requisition
What You Bring to This Role
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or similar technical focus
Experience working in med device field
Experience with implementing safety initiatives and OSHA compliance
Proven success with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems
Demonstrated success in process water cooling systems, electrical controls and PLC controlled equipment
Experience in vacuum furnace operation and repair
Familiarity with P & ID’s
Development of IQ/OQ documents, HAZOPS and Hazardous (classified) locations
Strong interpersonal and management skills
Working Conditions & Physical Efforts
Work is performed in a Production environment
May be required to lift up to 70 lbs
Ability to stand or sit for a prolonged period of time
Climbing/working from ladders and elevated height
Visual functions being those of near vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or operate equipment
