The Opportunity
Ensures the safe, efficient operation of building infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) by designing, maintaining, and upgrading systems. Manage facility layouts, ensure compliance with building codes/safety regulations, oversee contractors, and develop budgets for repairs. This hands-on role requires a blend of technical expertise, hands on work ethic, project management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
· Building Systems Maintenance: Perform as well as oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, lighting, and fire protection.
· Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure the longevity of all facility equipment.
· Project Management: Perform and Manage facility-related projects, including renovations, equipment upgrades, and office reconfigurations, from conception to completion. This includes budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing contractors.
· Safety and Compliance: Ensure all facilities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and building codes. Conduct regular safety inspections and drills.
· Vendor and Contractor Management: Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and manage the work of external vendors and contractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
· Energy Management: Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and promote sustainability.
· Emergency Response: Serve as a key point of contact for facility-related emergencies and develop and maintain emergency response plans.
· Space Planning: Assist with space planning and office moves to accommodate the changing needs of the organization.
· Continuous Improvement: Support the continuous improvement of facility operations by proactively identifying opportunities for enhancing system performance and reliability.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, facilities management, or a related field, or combination of technical education, training, and experience.
· 6+ years of experience in facilities engineering or a similar role, and 2+ years of experience managing facilities operations and maintenance staff.
· Experience building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression
· Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
· Knowledge of CAD software and Building Management Systems (BMS).
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
· Demonstrated experience managing service contracts and maintenance vendors to ensure personnel safety, protect the Facility’s critical equipment, and maintain power to the critical load
· Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Excellent project management and organizational skills.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the willingness to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
· Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Professional Engineer (PE), or other relevant certifications are preferred.
· Experience with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives is a plus
Physical Requirements:
· Frequently sitting, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 35 pounds.
· Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
· Occasionally kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, write by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
Working Conditions:
· May be exposed to noise > 80dB TWA.
· May work at heights 4 - 10 ft, and on the building rooftop.

• Base Salary: $100,000 - 120,000
