METAL FABRICATOR – ADVANCED METAL WORKS, INC.
Advanced Metal Works, Inc. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Metal Fabricator to join our fast-paced and growing shop. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in high-quality work, enjoys hands-on fabrication, and thrives in a structured environment where accuracy, craftsmanship, and safety come first.

Key Responsibilities
Using company systems and work methods, you will:
Fabricate sheet metal and other materials to exact specifications on provided work orders.
Complete assigned jobs on schedule and within budgeted hours.
Interpret and work from plans, drawings, and specifications.
Perform layout, cutting, forming, welding, grinding, and operation of fabrication machinery.
Maintain familiarity and proficiency with all shop machines and tools.
Communicate promptly with the supervisor regarding job issues, delays, or needed clarifications.
Assist in training others when appropriate.
Keep machines, tools, and the work area clean, organized, and safe.
Follow all company procedures and safety rules at all times.
Submit accurate, readable paperwork in a timely manner.
Support a positive, respectful work environment and represent the company professionally.
Work overtime when requested to help meet production deadlines.
Assist with other shop tasks as directed by the Shop Supervisor/Manager.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year experience in metal fabrication (preferred but not required for candidates with strong aptitude and work ethic)
Ability to accurately read a tape measure
Basic material handling skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to lift and handle materials and shop tools safely
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Ability to retain information and follow instructions
Positive attitude; works well with others
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Preferred Experience
(Not required training will be provided for the right candidate.)
Experience operating fabrication tools and machines
Welding experience or certifications
Knowledge of sheet metal or construction work
Field installation experience
Strong math skills and ability to visualize projects in 3D
Tools & Equipment Used
Candidates should be familiar with—or willing to learn—common fabrication tools, including:
Tape measure
Aviation snips (red/green)
Seamers
Skill saw
Chop/miter saw
Grinder
Drill
Speed square
Additional fabrication machinery and shop tools as required

Work Environment
This is a hands-on, fast-paced shop environment where most tasks are performed independently but under direction from the Shop Supervisor or Shop Manager. The quality and timeliness of your work directly affect company success, customer satisfaction, and repeat business. Respectful communication and teamwork are essential.
Physical Conditions
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the yard and warehouse for extended periods.
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and handling materials.
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs (with or without assistance).
Manual dexterity for handling tools, materials, and pre-fabricated components.
Ability to safely operate or work around material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) if required for the role.
Visual and auditory acuity to identify hazards, read labels or measurements, and communicate effectively.
Environmental Conditions
Work performed in a yard and warehouse environment that may be partially open to outdoor elements.
Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain depending on the season.
Exposure to moderate to high noise levels from equipment, tools, and nearby production activities.
Exposure to dust, dirt, metal materials, and construction-related debris.
Regular movement of materials and equipment in the area, including forklifts and other machinery.
Compliance with safety protocols and required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vests, and steel-toe boots.
