Reports To:
Operations Manager
The position of Fabrication Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager. The primary responsibility of the Fabrication Supervisor is to support and control the Fabrication Department through experience, techniques and expertise by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for training new employees and tracking job performance based on strengths and weaknesses to contribute to employee growth and development.
Provide support on technical issues as they arise while monitoring adherence to documented manufacturing processes.
Ensure manufacturing “best practices” are in place, focusing efforts on continuous improvement opportunities, 5s initiatives, and housekeeping standards.
Monitor and coordinate schedule to ensure work is completed on time.
Communicate and coordinate with other departments, providing all necessary information to support the success of the organization.
Ensure inventory control and accuracy is achieved by providing support to Operations and Engineering teams to make corrections and improvements where needed.
Ability to read and understand measurement devices including tape measure, caliper, and various gauges.
Ability to interpret drawings provided by Engineering department and ensure quality standards are being met.
Perform other job-related duties, which may include occasional tasks outside the normal scope of your job.
Comply with all applicable ISO Standards: Quality Management System, Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Standards, and follow all plant policies and guidelines.
Enforce compliance with all applicable OSHA standards: Ensures all equipment guards, safety devices, and PPE (personal protection equipment) are in place at all times and follows safe work procedures and safety rules.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises various amounts of employees in the Fabrication Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of related field technical education and manufacturing management experience. Must have minimum 7 years in a shop environment and 3-5 years supervisory experience
Knowledge of database software (experience with Odoo is a plus), development software, internet & manufacturing software. Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, proficient with email.
Keen attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to occasionally be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the shop environment is usually high
