About the Role
We are looking for a highly commercial Trading Cards Expert based in Germany or the Netherlands to grow Catawiki’s Trading Cards category across the European market.
In this role, you will actively grow supply, leverage your local and European network to onboard sellers, curate high-quality auctions, and work closely with our local teams in to drive visible, measurable success. You are not just an expert you are also, commercially driven, well-connected, and energized by growth.
You will collaborate daily with colleagues across Europe and play a key role in strengthening Catawiki’s position in the European Trading Cards ecosystem.
In This Role, You Will
Curate & Screen Lots
• Evaluate and approve lots based on authenticity, condition, grading, and market demand.
• Provide accurate and competitive estimated values using market knowledge and data.
• Reject unsuitable submissions clearly and professionally.
• Help sellers improve listing quality through strong descriptions, better photos, and realistic pricing.
Build High-Quality, Commercial Auctions
• Create weekly auctions featuring Pokémon, One Piece, Sports Cards, and other Trading Cards.
• Spot and act on trends in the European market (hot sets, grading trends, scarcity, player-driven demand).
• Balance expert curation with a commercial mindset to maximize auction performance.
• Ensure auctions meet the expectations of Catawiki’s international buyer base.
Grow Supply & Onboard European Sellers
• Actively use and expand your local and European network to onboard professional sellers and high-potential private sellers.
• Build relationships with:
• Card shops and store owners
• Dealers and professional sellers
• Wholesalers and distributors
• Collector and grading communities
• Guide sellers through Catawiki’s auction model, pricing strategies, grading expectations, shipping standards, and dispute prevention.
• Be a trusted point of contact for sellers, supporting their long-term success on the platform.
Act With a Strong Commercial & Entrepreneurial Mindset
• Proactively identify supply opportunities: graded cards, sealed products, high-demand singles, sports cards, and exclusive collections.
• Think like a trader while maintaining Catawiki’s quality standards.
• Drive growth through seller activation, strong curation, and smart decisions.
• Contribute ideas to increase Catawiki’s visibility and relevance in the European trading card scene.
Collaborate Closely With Local Teams
• Work hand-in-hand with sales and marketing teams to achieve shared commercial goals.
• Align on priorities, campaigns, and category growth initiatives.
• Be a visible contributor to local and European market success within Catawiki.
Use Data to Drive Better Results
• Analyze auction performance, sell-through, and buyer behaviour.
• Identify gaps and growth opportunities across franchises, eras, formats (sealed vs. singles), and grading types.
• Share insights with internal teams to continuously improve the category.
Who You Are
Trading Cards Expertise
• Deep knowledge of Trading Cards, especially:
• Pokémon
• One Piece
• Sports Cards
• Other major TCGs
• Strong understanding of grading, condition, rarity, sealed product, and collector psychology.
Commercial & Market-Driven
• Hands-on experience buying and selling trading cards (online, in-store, or at events).
• Strong instinct for pricing, trends, scarcity, and demand shifts.
• Solid understanding of the European trading card market.
Network & Market Presence
• A strong existing network in Europe, ideally including:
• Card shops and dealers
• Professional sellers
• Collectors and grading communities
• Comfortable acting as an ambassador for Catawiki in the local market.
Communication & Skills
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a strong plus.
• Confident communicator who can educate, negotiate, and build trust with sellers.
• Comfortable working with data and digital tools.

This role is open to candidates based in Germany or the Netherlands, with close collaboration with local teams and daily interaction with colleagues across Europe.

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. That said, some roles may be an exception: if the job description states that the position is fully remote or 100% office-based, that arrangement will apply instead.
